Top seed Fucsovics advances at the Canberra International
The top seed Marton Fucsovics has defeated Italy’s Francesco Maestrelli (Q) to advance to the second round at the P2 Advisory Canberra International. The tournament is an ATP 100 Challenger event.
Fuscovics, a past finalist comfortabl won the match 6-2, 6-3.
Yesterday the second seed Jan-Lennard Struff won is opening match. Struff is also a past finalist.
In the opening match of the day on centre court it was Marc Polmans that defeated USA qualifier Mitchell Krueger 6-3, 6-4.
Polmans was one of three wildcard recipients. The other two, Dane Sweeny and James McCabe also had wins.
Polmans and Sweeny meet each other in the second round. McCabe defeated Franco Agamenone from Italy to setup a round two match against French qualifier Enzo Couacaud.
The Frenchman came through a tough second qualifying match against Australia’s Tristan Schoolkate.
