Saville returns to no. 1 ranked Australian

Daria Saville has fought her way back from injury, yet again, to take the top spot in Australian tennis.

Saville has moved up the rankings with some good results, she could have moved up even more rapidly but for some close losses. Saville is currently sitting at no. 94.

Arina Rodionova had climbed into the top-100 after a lot of wins on the ITF tour, she has however hit a bit of a brick wall now that she is competing at a higher level.

Saville suffered an Achilles injury and underwent surgery in 2021 as well as having plantar fasciitis. After a solid comeback from injury she had an ACL tear in 2022 after having been ranked at no. 50 on September 12 that year.
