After starting the year at no. 220, Purcell has made massive moves over the past three weeks.

First he claimed the title in Chennai, next it was Bengaluru and now Purcell has added the Pune title with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over Italy’s Luca Nardi.

In amongst those wins, Purcell saved a match point in the Chennai final.

Purcell ended his successful doubles partnership with Matthew Ebden in late 2022 to allow him to focus on his singles.

The moved has now paid off with Purcell sitting at no. 96 in the live rankings.
