Tomljanovic gets top 5 win

Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic has claimed a top-5 scalp after her defeat of world no. 4 Paula Badosa.

The final score was 6-7(3) 6-0 6-2.

After losing the tight first set it was all Tomljanovic. The Australian hitting with power and control was too good for the Spaniard.

Tomljanovic last beat a top-5 player back in 2014, beating world No.3 Agnieszka Radwanska at Roland Garros.

The Australian next faces world No.20 Veronika Kudermetova in the third round, they met last week in the opening round in Toronto with Tomljanovic claiming a win.
