An all-Australian mixed doubles final?

Jaimee Fourlis and Andrew Harris showed their defeat of no. 1 mixed double seeds Storm Hunter and Matthew Ebden was no fluke.

The Australian pairing has backed up that win with another win over a seeded pairing.

This time they defeated no. 5 seeds Laura Siegemund and Sandar Gille 7-5, 7-5.

Fourlis and Harris coming back from 1-4 in the opening set.

In the semifinals the pairing will face no. 3 seeds Hsieh Su-Wei and Jan Zielinski.

The other all-Australian pairing of Marc Polmans and Olivia Gadecki also advanced. They defeated no. 6 seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Nathaniel Lammons

Polmans had an excellent serving match and as a team they served at 71% on first serves.

Both team held serve in the opening set until the 10th game when the Australians took advantage of two double faults from their opponents.

The second set was a tight affair with both teams holding all the way to a seven point breaker.

The Aussies held two match points at 6-4 before seeing the opponents have a set point at 7-6. Polmans and Gadecki then ran off three straight points to claim victory.

Next up for the 2023 semifinalists is the no. 2 seeds of Desirae Krawczyk and Neal Skupski.
