Alex and Katie do it again, double trouble!
Back in March, Alex de Minaur won the Acapulco title on Saturday before his girlfriend won the San Diego title the next day to claim titles in the same week.
The couple has done that again, but both won on the same day this time around.
de Minaur outclassed Sebastian Korda on the ‘s-Hertogenbosch grass court while Boulter first reached the final by defeating Emma Radacanu in a match carried over from Saturday, before downing former world no. 1 Karolina Pliskova in three sets.
de Minaur won his second grass court title after defeating Korda 6-2, 6-4. Boulter defended her title, winning the final 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Both players had to play their semifinals earlier in the day.
The Australian now moves to a career-high seventh in the rankings.
“That’s always a great little bonus. My first week on grass couldn’t have gone any better,” he said after his triumph over the seventh-seeded Korda.
“Honestly, I came into this week with pretty low expectations, just coming out here and enjoy myself,” Boulter said.
“To come out here and play some seriously good tennis and get over the line, I’m not entirely sure how I did it in the end. But I’ve gone back-to-back and I’m super proud of myself.”
