Singles and doubles action starts today at the Brisbane International.

Ajla Tomljanovic is first up on court no. 1 against France’s Elsa Jacqeumot, the world no. 55.

Tomljanovic needed a wildcard take her spot in the main draw and she will be looking to make the most of that to improve from no. 80.

World no. 37 Daria Kasatkina will be looking to make a winning start to 2026 after taking time off at the end of the 2025 season. Kasatkina faces

World no. 84 Aleksandar Vukic faces Frances Tiafoe, the current world no. 30.

The big interest for the day comes with the doubles match between Australia’s Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis as they take on two former world no. 1 doubles players in Matthew Ebden an Rajeev Ram.

Kokkinakis and Kyrgios famously won the 2022 Australian Open doubles title.

Ebden and Ram most likely will have too much experience and should overcome the Australian pair, but you never know.

Alexei Popyrin will join Canada’s Denis Shapovalov as they face Uruguay’s Ariel Behar and Belgium’s Joran Vliegen.

In the women’s doubles, Kimberly Birrell and Talia Gibson take on Ellen Perez and Cristina Bucsa of Spain. Perez recently took on Paul McNamee as coach.

Priscilla Hon is teaming up with Czech player Karolina Muchova as they take on Japan’s Eri Hozumi and Chinise Taipei’s Wu Fang-Hsien.
