World no. 136 Priscilla Hon is the no. 1 seed for the ACT Clay Court International #2 being played at the Canberra Tennis Centre.
Hon faced 15-year-old wildcard Anastasia Berezov, the 16/u Australian Champion from 2018. Berezov broke early for a 2-0 lead but then Hon found her rhythm on the clay and raced to a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
The #2 defending champion Jaimee Fourlis was bundled out by Slovakia’s Tereza Mihalikova the world no. 358. Last week Mihalikova teamed up with Naiktha Bains to win th e doubles title in the #1 tournament in Canberra. The score was 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.

Canberra’ Alison Bai had a good win over last week’s runner-up Risa Ozaki from Japan, winning 6-2, 6-4.
Qualifier Maddison Inglis won a 3 hour 17 minute battle against Naiktha Bains taking the match 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
The wildcards did not fare well. As mentioned above Berezov lost to Hon. Sara Tomic lost to Germany’s Romy Koelzer and Alexandra Bozovic lost to Turkey’s Cagla Buyukakcay.
Of the other Australians playing on Wednesday, they all tasted defeat. Gabriella Da Siva Fick lost to Miharu Imanishi from Japan. Masa Jovanovic lost to Japan’s Miyabi Inoue and Zoe Hives lost to another Japanese player Haruka Kaji.
