After losing in qualifying 17-year-old Olga Danilovic of Serbia was handed a lifeline as a lucky loser. The Serb took full advantage of her second shot in the tournament.
Danilovic not only claimed her maiden WTA title, she became the first lucky loser to win a WTA singles title. She did that with a 7-5, 6-7(1), 6-4 victory over a fellow 17-year-old Russian Anastasia Potapova at the Moscow River Cup.
