Keys was able to hold her serve the next two times, but Svitolina did not allow for the American to gain any opportunities to break. Svitolina was able to serve out the set, winning it in just 31 minutes when Keys sent the ball into the net.
In the second set, Keys tidied up her game lowering her unforced error count from 11 to 5, and producing 16 winners. The Ukrainian only managed to hit 4 winners in the second set and this time it was her who found herself 4-0 down. Keys only took 23 minutes to win the set and level the score at a set all, only allowing Svitolina to take one game.

Both held their first service game in the third set. Then in the third game, two consecutive double faults by Svitolina brought up a break point for Keys, but she could not convert it as she hit the ball into the net. The American then had another five break point opportunities in this game, but Svitolina was able to hold on after the 16 minute game. Keys then it the ball long when Svitolina had a break point, allowing Svitolina to break and lead 3-1. The Ukrainian found her momentum again and she went on to win all the next games to win the match.
Svitolina will next play either Naomi Osaka or Anastasija Sevastova for a place in the semi-finals.
