Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic defeated Swiss Belinda Bencic in straight sets 6-1 6-4. The world no. 6 is yet to drop a set in the tournament so far.

The only game Kvitova dropped in the first set was the second game. Once she broke serve in the fourth game, there was no stopping the Czech in this first set. She finished the set in just 24 minutes, winning it with an ace.
The second set wasn’t quite as easy for Kvitova. She faced a break point, after she double faulted in the in the fourth game, but she was able to prevent Bencic breaking and held her serve. Kvitova broke to lead 4-3, then consolidated to be only one game away from the round of 16. Bencic held her next service game, then Kvitova served for the match. An ace brought up three match points for the Czech, but she only need one to win the match.
Kvitova will face 17-year-old American Amanda Anisimova in the fourth round, who upset Belarusian no. 11 seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-3 6-2.
