Australia’s Nick Kyrgios and Alex de Minaur has won their singles matches against Jan-Lennard Struff and Alexander Zverev to claim their Group F tie against Germany.
Kyrgios got started with a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory over world no. 35 Struff.
Zverev looked on track to level the tie after taking the first set and being up a break in the second set before the Australian fought back to win 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-2.
This was the first upset at the ATP Cup with the world no. 7 going down to the world no. 18.
A few double faults from Zverev at crucial times probably cost Germany the match. That combined with de Minaur’s hustle.
